Blogging Through Augustine

In 2017, I decided to start reading through Augustine’s works. According to a spreadsheet that I have compiled, there are around 107 works. In 2017, I read through 12 of them (see my post here about the books I read in 2017), including major works such as City of God, On The Trinity, and On the Merits of Forgiveness of Sins and on Infant Baptism.

Primarily, I have been reading through eBooks. I purchased Schaff’s The Complete Words of the Church Fathers on Kindle. It is an inexpensive resource ($2.99) containing over 2,500 works from 64 authors. This has around 46 of Augustine’s works and I have been highlighting sections of them.

These blog posts in the series will typically be posted in publication order with one post per book. I will choose some of the more significant passages that I highlighted and have a brief discussion about each passage. Some books will require more than one post. This is as much for me as for anyone else, but I hope that you receive some benefit from it as well! God bless you!
